| Each year nurse employers across the State of South Carolina
are given the opportunity to nominate outstanding nurses to
receive this prestigious award. One hundred nurses will be selected
as Palmetto Gold recipients for their excellence in nursing
practice and commitment to the profession. In addition to be
presented and honored during the Palmetto Gold Gala, the recipients'
contributions will be highlighted throughout the year on the
Palmetto Gold website as well as recognized by their local news
media.
Nominators are asked to provide evidence of how the nominee
demonstrates excellence in practice and commitment to the
profession by addressing these four criteria:
- Promotes and advances the profession of nursing in a positive
way in the practice setting or in the community
- Displays caring and commitment to patients, families
and colleagues
- Demonstrates leadership and assists others in growth
and development
- Contributes to the overall outcomes in the practice area/setting
Twelve nurses from across South Carolina will participate
in the blind review process. Each nomination will be reviewed
by six nurses. Three reviewers will review and rank the applicants
based on the first two criteria, while the remaining three
reviewers rank the nominees on the final two criteria. These
scores will be tabulated and the winners selected.
Deadline for 2008 Nominations
is October 31, 2007
